Method of administration and dosage. Salbutamol is an aerosol that is intended for oral administration only. It is recommended that patients who find it difficult to synchronize breathing with the use of an inhaler use an additional spacer, a device to facilitate the inhalation of inhaled drugs.

  • Adults (including elderly patients).
    • To stop exacerbation of asthma symptoms, including acute bronchospasm, 1 inhalation (100 mcg) can be used as the minimum starting dose. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 200 mcg (2 inhalations).
    • Prophylactically, 10 mcg (2 inhalations) are used 10-15 minutes before exercise or the expected contact with allergens.
    • With long-term maintenance therapy, it is recommended to use 200 mcg (2 inhalations) 4 times a day. The total daily dose of salbutamol should not exceed 800 mcg (8 inhalations).

    • An increased need for beta-2 agonists may indicate a worsening of asthma. Under these conditions, the patient's treatment regimen should be reviewed and the need for GCS therapy should be considered.

Children. The drug is intended for the treatment of children from the age of 4 years.

Interaction with other drugs. Salbutamol should not be taken with non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blockers (e.g., propranolol). The simultaneous use of salbutamol with MAO inhibitors is not contraindicated.
